My first review of the GAD on the World Wide Web reads: “First and foremost, Alexander Pushkin would have been exactly in ecstasy with this dictionary... What a marvelous dictionary to behold!!! We are speechless in the USA just by looking at these handsome volumes one after another. The Great Academic Dictionary of the Russian Language [the GAD hereafter] (the most correct English name for it, or Le Grand dictionnaire academique de la langue Russe en francais) will be published in 30 very impressive volumes inside and out.
